Nanango Camp draft 2012

Once again I went to have a peek in the Nanango camp draft which was held this week-end (11-12/02/12) Nice to see all the riders with their leather gear and the great horse work. Its hard to control a horse and to try to guide a cow also, so the rider & horse need to know each other.most time you can't pick what the cow would do or go to according to Albert. For me its a good experience to take an interesting shot that's pleasant to look at and also tells a story

Its Summer in Australia and Queensland just had some of the hottest days EVER, so we decided to head to the New England region in NSW and we went to Armidale, which is a lovely coolish place we've been to a few times now. We had a few days there and found all of these landscapes and history (Australian style). One of the best things was the nice weather and lots of photos opportunities

I love my 2 beautiful dogs Jemma & Podjy-Rex (the brown superdog) It's easy for me as I got 2 great model dogs to work with. The photo of Podjy leaping over the crack in the road and jumping was something that we tried a few weeks ago on one of our trips with my Podjy. Anyone with animals and especially dogs will know the feeling of 'Best friend'!!!!!!!

On a cold but sunny Sunday in May the Nanango camera club headed to Comminya township to visit Bellevue Homestead. I have to say, I've been in a few homesteads around Queensland and this homestead is one of the more elegant & have so much to see and explore!! Also it was good to have a great tour by John Dingle, who with wife Laurel has been doing a great job of restoration and pouring lots of knowledge, time, love and effort to keep this graceful and elegant old lady alive!!!!!

The big wet hit Queensland in December, Big area of Queensland under water (an area the size of France & Germany combined), we got over 400 mm of rain for December alone which is a record for us, and we got 1384 mm for the whole year (2010) which is the most for us ever since we got the block here in Nanango.

It was a long day very humid (Luckily it was cloudy which made it better for photographing). their son was the page boy and their older daughter was the Flower girl. I've been asked by Jamie Lee and Matthew to take some photos for the formal last Thursday. Well it was a delight to do so as it turned out to be a lovely session. Jamie-Lee reminded me of a young Audrey Hepburn and her dress was to die for. I can't say enough how much fun it was for me to take the photos. I was a bit worried as it was raining a bit all day but come time to take the photos the rain stopped and the gardens where we took the photos just looked so nice. Sunday, lazy day we thought to go to some of the water holes and to have a drive with the dogs. After recent rain the water was still flowing and we were surprised to find water still on one of the crossings (@ Monudure towards Booie), so we had a bit of a splash and a picnic & tea, the dogs had a bit of a drive. We considering it as a FUN DAY, the dogs say' big WOOF '

Last Sunday we had a go and try to photograph
Still Photography. Also I had a go myself photographing some objects which was part of a challenge for Canon Camera competition with some objects that was to be included in the competition such as: Red Ribbon, Cocktail Umbrella and Tea Light Candle.
The good thing with this type of photography is the subject not moving and I have time to photograph the subject, and it was a good practice with lighting.
I did found its not as easy as it looks!!!!
But I love the result

Autumn @ Stanthorpe Queensland

One day in April as we worked in the garden we made a decision to head to Stanthorpe (which is one of the coldest places in Queensland & where they're growing lots of apples & stone fruits) to take 3 days off from our paradise and go & to see the big granite Boulder's in the area.
We headed for Bald Rock N.P and
for Girraween N.P. We had a lovely time, the weather was perfect!!! (as you can see from the photos)
We also went to the border between Queensland & N.S.W where the train used to change (due to different rail guage -Queensland was smaller than the rail guage of N.S.W) and where pasengers had to change trains.

The Courier Mail is a Queensland newspaper and in the Week-end edition they got the Q week-end magazine in which for the last few months now running a weekly competition and each week there is a 'subject' where we can submit photographs. I was pleased to see I was twice first runner-up with my photo of No 67 - for 'Numbers' comp. & with Jemma in 'relaxing' subject. Here are those photos. Can view them by going to Qweekend (Courier Mail.com.au) by clicking on photo competition and the Gallery Jemma dog she was in her very normal position for the 'Relax' subject competition (this photo was the first runner-up)

An Easter Outing 2010

On Easter Long Week-end we wanted to have a drive somewhere nice & not far from home. Emu Creek was closed for a few years as there was no water in the creek but this year we got a very wet year and the Creek & the camping grounds were open for the public once again. We lived in Nanango for 15 years & never been there so we went there with the dogs. We had a lovely time & had a walk (& finished it with hot chips, which is an Aussie tradition.... or more like Mcsweeney tradition!!!) Rob with the Podj

One Week-end in March

One week-end in March, was a very photographic sort of week-end, on Saturday we taken the 'girls' to a drive & a walk on a short Boardwalk after heavy rains we experience a week before, lots of mosquitoes on the board walk but the dogs had fun . The following day (Sunday) we went with the camera club to this place Called Broad water, lovely place lots of Gum trees and interesting water angles, and from there we went to our friends property where we had the lovely after-noon sun (which is very good for photography, as you can see) Enjoy!!!!

Well we kind of forgot about our wedding anniversary (which was on the day I landed in Australia, back from Israel) & we haven't done anything on Valentines Day (Feb. 14Th) so last Sunday (end of February) we made some sandwiches and went to have a picnic in Roger Park near the town of Yarraman. It was a lovely day not too hot, the girls had fun and we enjoyed home made sandwiches & biscuits and nice tea, who says you can't enjoy yourself on a budget.....

Well, every time I'm going back to Israel I like to go & see some of the major cities in Israel. and the markets they have.
Israel is a very young country and there is a vibrant feel to her. Like Australia Israel has the most blend of people from all over the world, which makes her full of flavour and diversity (food, tradition, music & languages etc.) I miss the food they have to offer, the fruit always has a flavour. As I walk in Tel-Aviv I can see so many photographic opportunities.

As we travel I've found taking photographs of people in day to day activity tells a lovely story and give me idea of the way of lifestyle of a place. I love to take a Social Documentary photos and as I post those photos I feel its take me back to the places, the landscape, the smells & the so different things we got here in Australia, but still the common thing we all share in which we need to buy things (like food & clothing ) we need to meet other human kind. I've gathered photos from Thailand, S. Korea and Israel. Most of the photographs from Israel are from Tel-Aviv(Carmel market) & Jaffa (where I walked in the Flea Market) and in Jerusalem where I spent some time in Ben-Yehuda market

Well a recent trip to Israel Via Asia (stop over in Korea & Thailand) I'm posting part a of the trip, a stop over in Seoul in S. Korea. It was a nice cold change from Australia and I had 3.5 hours in the center of Seoul with -7 degrees(but lovely sunny wintry day) I found this big palace not far from Town Hall where I walked around in the snow and after that found this street with at least 20 camera shops. I was lost for words with all this lovely camera stuff, where I felt like a poor kid in a big toy shop !!!! from this shops it lead me to a big outdoor street market with all of this Korean goods food & People LOVE IT (a photographers heaven) and the lovely Korean dolls in the air-port which cost over Au$20000 !!!!!. It taken me good 55 minutes each way from the hotel I'd stayed in but it was Worth it!!! I give Seoul 2 thumbs up to go & visit

One Lovely Saturday In January in Israel, up north not far from the border with Lebanon we went to have a walk. A great Idea (and very cheap activety) we head for Nachal (Creek) Czive. I went with one of my sister & her husband and son , my Nephew and friend of my sister's husband & his littel girl. We couldn't ask for more perfect weather, some water in the creek to 'SPLASH' around and a few bridges to cross..... We had a bit of fruit and snacks and at the end of the day we had very happy & tired kids (also some of the adults)
I put a photo of Czive Creek from above and where we walked . These photos taken just before the last storm that hit Israel, so I asume now the creek has more water in it.

My Baby sister got married in Israel 2 days before 2009 finished. I went down there to help with the photography. It was a rainy & cold day. Narkis was such a lovely bride, and when Yanive seen her, I think he know he got a great deal marrying her. It was such a delight to photograph them mainly because she is my sister and I was so happy to see her married to the best man you can find !!!!!!

On December 12Th (Sunday) we went to Taromeo homestead, and had a photographic session which I enjoyed muchly, it was a cloudy day which made indoor photography the go. I didn't use any flash for any of the photographs, I 'm very much happy with the light & exposure I got for the photos. Lovely memorabilia and story-like photos. Taromeo Homestead was the first settlement over the Blackbutt range.The Scott family came to the area around 1842, and its one of only 2 Cemetery in Australia in a private property (the other cemetery is in Camden near Sydney in NSW.)

What can I say about Sharnee, she is a real COUNTRY GIRL who LOVES her horses. She love all animals and a great cartoonist (she really doing a good job drawing). Sharnee is a member in our local camera club, and this photos taken during our few outing we had with the camera club.

Friend of mine from Nanango ask me if I can take some family photos of her granddaughter for her 2009 Formal. Also she wanted some family photos as her granddaughter is moving away from Nanango. It was a very hot afternoon so a lot of the photos were indoors with the air-conditioning. I put some photos of the 3 generations. I had a lovely time taking these photos
